Style varies in taste, when everyone follows a particular style it becomes a trend. Its only the first Month in the year 2020 and certain trend are carried over. From Fringe to Neons, here is a list of 10 2019 trends to expect in 2020:

1.   FRINGE
   Its Safe to say Fringe successfully made it into the year 2020 and if my guess its right, its here to stay. From jackets, Skirts,Shoulders to dresses and boots, this cow boy style has been in trend from 2018, that had Celebrities like Beyonce on her homecoming tour rocking Balmain holographic boots down to 2019 with everyone on the old town road wagon and now Area spring summer 2020 collection sure has lots of Fringe coming our way.


2.    Cold Shoulder
    Be it in form of a Top, Gown or Jumpsuit, the Cold Shoulder was a Favorite in 2019. Everyone was in on the trend from  regular people, celebrities, down to the runway, as was seen on Ashley Graham at Prabal Gurung show. Though always in style, it became a trend 2019 and it scaled through 2020 evident at the golden globes.

3. Animal prints 
It was out of trend for a minute but very much in style, it made a come back in 2018, with animal prints seen on the likes of Cardi B at the Dolce and Gabbana spring/summer show 2019 in Milan. The style was in full effect 2019 had everyone on animal prints including Beyonce, Ciara, Mary J Blige, Erica Mena, Even Kris Jenner and Kylie Jenner. We definitely will be seeing more of it this year as designers like Laquan smith has it on his spring/summer collection 2020.

4. Neon
This Color was and is still everywhere, in every country, city and continent. Designers like Brandon maxwell and Virgil Abloh of off-White made sure of it. The color announces it presence every time its worn and it looks like that light isn't dimming any time soon, go get shades. 

5. Pleated Skirts
Pleated skirts rocked 2019 and it has moved to 2020. Looking Very Chic when rocked with a pair of heels ask Gabrielle Union, the style can also be rocked with a pair of sneakers, sandals or slippers. Pleated skirts is definitely your go-to for a feminine look and it has become a wardrobe staple till further notice.

6.   Latex 
Known widely for  BDSM culture, the shine and skintight fit of latex is now a popular trend. With the way my tummy is shaped, I definitely won't be caught rocking this style being that It fits on the body like a second skin, anywho, it was definitely a trend in 2019 with the likes of Kendall Jenner wearing a black latex and red floral dress by london designer Richard Quinn to 2019 Emmys and if Laquan Smith spring/summer 2020 collection is anything to go by, we will be seeing more of latex this year.

7.   Crochet
Crochet was upgraded in summer 2019, it became more sophisticated. It was prominent in spring of 2019 with Designers like Michael Kors, Prada and Dior. Well we sure have seen the last of it as was also unveiled in Spring/Summer 2020 collection of designers like Jonathan Simkhai, fendi, Marni and Gabriela Hearst.

8.  Off-Shoulder
Not sure when it came into trend but every prom, dinner, wedding gowns always has someone in an Off-shoulder style. Whether in form of a gown, top or jumpsuit, the display of skin makes it very sexy as seen on Kim Kardashian rocking a vintage Vivienne Westwood to Diddy at 50. This style is definitely not going out of trend anytime soon.

9.   Power Suits
  Power suits as they are popularly called is every feminist dream. This 80s style was reconstructed in 2019 such that it can be worn in any form to any function. Power Suit was definitely my favorite trend for 2019, if you follow instagram fashion then you understand my choice, with the likes of Mary J blige, Beyonce, ciara and even the bad girl herself, rihanna, showing us how its done. 2020 is already seeing its share of power suits.

10. BLAZER DRESS
    This has been spotted on the top fashionistas from Beyonce to Nicole Williams to Kylie jenner to Didi Stone to ciara  and a host of many others. The Blazer dress rocked the previous years and its here to continue in 2020.
